The US General Services Administration (GSA) announced on November 27, 2018, that it is consolidating the twenty-four separate Multiple Award Schedules (MAS) into one single schedule for products and services. As a way to modernize federal acquisition, the GSA stated that consolidating into a single schedule will make it easier and more efficient to do business with federal, state, and local governments. GSA Releases Final Rule on Transactional Data Reporting
The U.S. General Services Administration has released its final rule on transactional data reporting. The final rule requires that GSA Federal Supply Schedules (FSS) contractor holders, Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts (GWAC) holders, and Governmentwide indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract holders submit eleven transactional data points to GSA on a monthly basis. GAO Bid Protest Annual Report to Congress for Fiscal Year 2013 (GAO-14-276SP)

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) annually reports to Congress a summary of its bid protest activity. Per the requirements of the Competition in Contracting Act (CICA), the GAO must report each instance where a Government agency did not fully implement a recommendation made by the GAO in connection with a bid protest decision.
In its report for FY 2013 (GAO-14-276SP), the GAO discloses data regarding bid protest filings and, for the first time, the most prevalent grounds for the GAO to sustain protests. Below is a chart of bid protest statistics for the previous two fiscal years and a summary of the FY 2013 report.

GSA Proposed Merger of Professional Engineering Services and Environmental Services Schedules

Recently, the GSA issued a survey to contractors holding Professional Engineering Schedule (PES) 871 and Environmental Services Schedule (899), soliciting feedback on potentially merging these two schedules. A merger is not certain, but the GSA is considering this option.
